Dear Mr. and Mrs. Evans-
-
- Just thought that I would let you know how things
are going so far at
- Berkeley. I have just (yesterday) finished up my
first round of midterms, in Astronomy and History. I
have another midterm next week in my Political Science
class. Classes are going well, the biggest challenge
so far has been effectively managing my time.

- It's taken awhile to get into the groove of
college and Cal; I think it will be awhile before I am
completely at home here, although it feels more like
home every day. Three days a week I am going to
sailing practice on Treasure Island. The sailing up
here is awesome: it's much windier and and there is
more wide open space then in Newport Harbor.

- My thoughts are with you and your family today on
what would have been Brad's 25 birthday. Thank you
again for the generous scholarship.
